The Boston Bruins have signed 2010 second-overall pick Tyler Seguin to an entry-level contract.
While financial terms of the deal where not disclosed, Seguin will earn a base salary around $900,000 and have a cap hit of approximately $3.75 million.
Seguin, 18, spent the past two seasons playing with the Plymouth Whalers in the Ontario Hockey League. In 2009-2010, he led the OHL in scoring 48 goals and 58 assists in 63 games for 106 points, sharing the title with fellow top prospect Taylor Hall.
The Brampton, Ontario native won the 2009-2010 Red Tilson Trophy as the most outstanding player in the OHL and the 2009-2010 CHL Top Draft Prospect Award as the top eligible prospect for the NHL Entry Draft from the Canadian Hockey League.
