Bruins goaltender Tim Thomas heard his name tossed around the rumor mill and the league for several weeks leading up to the trade deadline, reports the Boston Herald.

Thomas, 35, signed a four-year extension with the Bruins last April, but has struggled this season and has lost a large amount of playing time to rookie Tuukka Rask.

However, the native of Flint, Michigan, told the Herald he was never worried that the Bruins were going to trade him.

"My confidence going into this was pretty good, and for the most part I felt good the whole way through," he said.

Thomas was never asked by Bruins GM Peter Chiarelli to waive his no-trade clause, despite reports suggesting the team will look to move him in the summer.

Thomas has posted a 14-15-7 record so far this season. He won the Vezina Trophy as the league's top goaltender last season.

"I didn't become a bad goalie," he said. "Like I've said before, I don't think I've played that bad this year. Have I played at the level I did last year? No. But the whole year hasn't gone anything like last year, you know? It's tough."
