According to the Ottawa Sun, the Boston Bruins have held trade discussions with teams regarding veteran goaltender Tim Thomas.
Thomas, last year's winner of the Vezina Trophy for top goalie, has had a sub-par season, to date, posted a 13-15-7 record with a 2.52 goals-against-average.
The 35-year-old signed a four-year, $20 million extension last April, which includes a no-movement clause. Any deal the Bruins try to make would require Thomas' approval.
It's uncertain if Bruins GM Peter Chiarelli has initiated trade talks with some of his counterparts, or if he's received inquiries about Thomas.
The Sun suggests the Chicago Blackhawks, Dallas Stars and Columbus Blue Jackets may all have an interest in Thomas.

I'm sure if the right deal came along, Chiarelli would jump on it. The only thing is, I can't see a team paying a big price for Thomas. The Hawks can't afford Thomas without moving Cristobal Huet, and that's unlikely (nor would they send him down to the AHL). Right now, the Bruins aren't making that big of a trade until they have a better understanding of where they sit in the standings. If they continue to fall, it's a move Chiarelli would consider even more. -- David Pagnotta
