The Bruins are one of several teams knocking on unrestricted free agent center Peter Forsberg's door, reports the Boston Globe.
Forsberg, 36, is in Sweden working out and trying to earn a spot on his country's Olympic roster.
Forsberg is currently skating with MoDo's junior club, and cannot play for MoDo if he wants to sign with an NHL team this season.
Bruins GM Peter Chiarelli has acknowledged his interested in Forsberg, but he isn't along.
The Philadelphia Flyers, Vancouver Canucks and New York Rangers have openly expressed interest, while the Nashville Predators, Montreal Canadiens, Colorado Avalanche and Edmonton Oilers are also rumored to be in the mix.
It's uncertain when Forsberg will make a decision, but the Bruins are hoping they can lure him away from the competition.
"He's a Bruins-type player," Chiarelli told the Globe. "He's strong on the puck. Plays with an edge."

I'm not even sure Forsberg really knows what's going on at this point. There isn't much else to report... he's trying to come back, that's about it. -- David Pagnotta
