The Boston Bruins were among the teams interested in acquiring St. Louis Blues veteran forward Keith Tkachuk before the trade deadline.
According to the Ottawa Sun, the Bruins were close to landing Tkachuk and youngster David Perron from the Blues for a deal involving Phil Kessel.
However, the Sun claims the Bruins were not entirely interested in moving Kessel, especially for a pending free agent like Tkachuk.
As a result, the Blues held on to Tkachuk and the Bruins acquired Mark Recchi from the Tampa Bay Lightning instead.
