The Boston Bruins have traded left wing Petteri Nokelainen to the Anaheim Ducks for defenseman Steve Montador.
The Bruins have also acquired veteran forward Mark Recchi and a 2010 second-round draft pick from the Tampa Bay Lightning for defenseman Matt Lashoff and prospect Martins Karsums.
Montador, 29, skated in 65 games this season for Anaheim, compiling four goals and a career-high 16 assists. The 6-foot, 211-pound Vancouver, BC, Canada native was signed as a free agent by the Ducks on July 11, 2008.
A veteran of 355 career games played in the NHL, Montador has registered 18 goals and 49 assists.
In 33 NHL games this season, Nokelainen registered eight goals and seven assists in 105 career games.
Nokelainen, an Imatra, Finland, native, was originally drafted by the New York Islanders with the 16th overall pick in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft.
Recchi, a two-time Stanley Cup Champion, is a veteran of 1,472 NHL regular season games and has accumulated 535 goals and 891 assists for 1,426 points, with 962 penalty minutes over 20 seasons.
Recchi, 41, won the Stanley Cup with Pittsburgh in 1991 and again with Carolina in 2006Ward.
He was originally drafted by the Penguins in the fourth round (67th overall) of the 1988 NHL Entry Draft.
Karsums skated in six games for Boston this season and registered one assist. The Riga, Latvia native was originally drafted by the Bruins in the 2nd round (64th overall) of the 2004 NHL Entry Draft.
Lashoff, 22, has seen action in 16 games for Boston this season, registering one assist, and has played in 33 games for Providence of the AHL.
Lashoff was originally drafted by Boston in the first round (22nd overall) of the 2005 NHL Entry Draft and has appeared in 43 NHL games in his career.
