Bruins no longer chasing Hossa TheFourthPeriod.com
The Bruins were involved in Marian Hossa sweepstakes, but quickly pulled themselves out of the race yesterday afternoon.
"We were involved a little bit earlier on with Hossa," said Bruins GM Peter Chiarelli. "We weren't at a position where we felt we would devote time to it."
Edmonton, Montreal and Pittsburgh are believed to be the frontrunners for Hossa.
Asked if the Bruins will pursue other free agents today, Chiarelli suggested it's not expected.
"It's unlikely that I'll continue in the free agent market. . . unless we make a trade," Chiarelli said.
