The Arizona Coyotes have been taking calls from some of the top teams in the NHL interested in exploring a trade for captain Shane Doan.
Doan, who is currently playing with the Coyotes in Boston against the Bruins, has a full no-movement clause and has to sign off on any deal the Coyotes attempt to complete.
According to two well-placed sources close to the Coyotes organization, as of Tuesday evening, TFP Editor-in-Chief David Pagnotta is reporting Doan is willing to waive his no-movement clause to one of five or six teams, with two teams atop his list.
It has not yet been confirmed which teams Doan specifically would waive his NMC for or whether a trade is presently on the table with any of those clubs.
The San Jose Sharks, Pittsburgh Penguins, Montreal Canadiens, Washington Capitals and Los Angeles Kings have been linked to Doan this season.
There are no guarantees a trade gets ironed out and Doan accepts it, but talks have picked up in the last day or so, and Doan is now open to the idea of moving if the right situation presents itself.
