Coyotes claim Burmistrov off waivers

The Arizona Coyotes have claimed forward Alexander Burmistrov off waivers from the Winnipeg Jets.

Burmistrov, 25, is in the final year of his contract that pays him $1.6 million in salary.

In 23 games with the Jets this season, Burmistrov registered just two assists in limited ice time, along with six penalty minutes.

The native of Kazan, Russia, has played in 298 career NHL regular-season games with the Atlanta Thrashers/Jets, and has accumulated 30 goals and 51 assists for 81 points, to date.

He was originally drafted eighth-overall by the Thrashers in the 2010 NHL Entry Draft.
