It's safe to say Slava Kozlov's tenure with the Thrashers is about to come to an end.
Kozlov, 37, has a no-trade clause but has told the Thrashers he's willing to waive it and accept a trade out of town.
"I don't know if I'm going to be on this team or another team," Kozlov, who is upset with his playing time this season, told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. "If we can find a team which I like and which is good for me and my family I will go. If not, I'm going to be here.
"With coach not playing me, what can you do? That's why I feel I could go play for somebody that needs my help. If so, I'll waive my no trade clause."
According to the Journal-Constitution, Kozlov's agent met with Thrashers GM Don Waddell prior to the Olympic break to discuss a trade scenario.
"I told his agent you control it because you have a no-trade," Waddell told the paper. "If you guys are willing to waive your no trade than I will explore and that's how we left it."
Kozlov is among a number of Thrashers players that could be moved before the Mar. 3 trade deadline.
Forwards Colby Armstrong and Eric Boulton could also be dealt, along with veteran defenseman Pavel Kubina, who also has a no-trade clause.
"We are waiting right now," Kozlov said. "I will think about it, talk to my family and my wife and see."
