As TFP reported earlier, the Atlanta Thrashers were heavily pursuing unrestricted free agent Nik Antropov.

Today, they finalized the deal, signing the 29-year-old to a four-year, $16 million contract.

In 81 games with the Toronto Maple Leafs and New York Rangers last season, Antropov collected 28 goals and 31 assists for 59 points.

The native of Kazakhstan has played in 527 career NHL games, and has accumulated 132 goals and 172 assists for 304 points, to go along with a career plus-53 rating.

Antropov was originally drafted 10th overall by the Leafs in the 1998 NHL Entry Draft.

Earlier today, the Thrashers also re-signed right wing Chris Thornburn to a new contract.
