Report: Anderson new coach of Thrashers

TheFourthPeriod.com

According to TSN, the Thrashers have hired John Anderson as their new head coach on Thursday, however GM Don Waddell is denying the report.

Anderson, 51, coached the Chicago Wolves of the American Hockey League this past season.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports Waddell was continuing to do "due diligence" in the coach search and that no announcement was likely before tonight's NHL draft.

Anderson led the Wolves to the Calder Cup last month.

David Pagnotta is currently on Ottawa covering the 2008 NHL Entry Draft and is presently unavailable to comment.
