Thrashers claim Recchi off re-entry waivers

The Atlanta Thrashers have claimed veteran winger Mark Recchi off re-entry waivers from the Pittsburgh Penguins.
Recchi, 39, originally cleared waivers and was sent to the American Hockey League.
The Thrashers will be responsible for paying only half of Recchi's $1.75 million salary, with the Penguins on the hook for the rest of his deal.
Recchi registered two goals and six assists in 19 games with the Penguins this season.
