As the Ducks climb their way towards the top of the Pacific Division, Murray is looking to add more pieces to his roster.
It's believed the Ducks have interest in Boston Bruins left wing Loui Eriksson, who is in the final year of his contract.
If Eriksson does not come to terms on a new contract with the Bruins, the team will look to move him by the Feb. 29 trade deadline and several teams, including the Ducks, are expected to make a pitch for his services.
Murray is weighing his options, though, and if the price tag appears to be too high on Eriksson, he could shift his focus to Carolina Hurricanes winger Kris Versteeg.
The Hurricanes are expected to move Versteeg by the deadline, and his smaller salary cap hit will draw plenty of interest.
