Vatanen signs two-year deal

The Anaheim Ducks have signed restricted free agent defenseman Sami Vatanen to a two-year, $2.525 million contract.

Vatanen, 23, recorded six goals and 15 assists for 21 points in 48 games with the Ducks last season.

A native of Jyvaskyla, Finland, Vatanen won a bronze medal in his first Olympic Winter Games earlier this year in Sochi, Russia.

Selected by Anaheim in the fourth round (106th overall) of the 2009 NHL Entry Draft, Vatanen has earned eight goals and 15 assists for 23 points in 56 career NHL games.
