The Anaheim Ducks have acquired center Nate Thompson from the Tampa Bay Lightning in exchange for a 2015 fourth-round and seventh-round draft pick.

In 81 games with the Lightning this past season, Thompson registered nine goals and seven assists for 16 points, along with 27 penalty minutes.

The native of Anchorage, Alaska, has accumulated 39 goals and 46 assists for 85 points, as well as 199 penalty minutes, in 391 career NHL regular-season games with the Boston Bruins, New York Islanders and Lightning.

Thompson was originally drafted by the Bruins in the sixth-round, 183rd overall, of the 2003 NHL Entry Draft.
