Ducks sign free agent Penner

The Anaheim Ducks have signed unrestricted free agent left wing Dustin Penner to a one-year contract worth $2 million.

Penner, 30, registered two goals and 12 assists for 14 points, along with 18 penalty minutes, in 33 games with the Los Angeles Kings this past season.

In 522 career NHL regular-season games with the Ducks, Edmonton Oilers and Kings, Penner has accumulated 137 goals and 138 assists for 275 points, and 324 penalty minutes.

The two-time Stanley Cup champion captured his first Cup in 2007 with the Ducks, and earned his second with the Kings in 2012.

Penner first entered the NHL after signing a contract with Anaheim on May 12, 2004.
