The Anaheim Ducks have re-signed defenseman Ben Lovejoy to a three-year, $3.3 million contract extension through the 2015-16 NHL season.

Lovejoy, 29, registered 10 assists and 29 penalty minutes in 35 games with the Ducks and Pittsburgh Penguins last season.

Acquired from Pittsburgh in exchange for a fifth-round selection in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft on Feb. 6, 2013, Lovejoy ranked tied for second among Anaheim defensemen with 10 assists in 32 games.

A native of Concord, New Hampshire, Lovejoy will earn $1 million next season, $1.1 million in the 2014-15 season, and $1.2 million in 2015-16.
