Along with Perry, Ducks center Ryan Getzlaf is also set to become an unrestricted free agent this summer, and according to TSN's Darren Dreger, who spoke during the network's TradeCentre special, "the Ducks can't afford to keep both these guys."
It's believed Getzlaf is more likely to re-sign with the Ducks this season, which points to the likeliness of a Perry trade, despite Anaheim's solid play this season.
"Bob Murray and the Anaheim Ducks cannot afford to allow Corey Perry to walk into free agency for nothing," Dreger said, suggesting a trade could go down.
After struggling out of the gate, Perry has significantly picked up his game and now has six goals and 14 assists for 20 points in 21 games this season.
