Ducks sign Fowler to 5-year extension TheFourthPeriod.com
The Anaheim Ducks have signed defenseman Cam Fowler to a five-year, $20 million contract extension.
Fowler, 20, registered five goals and 24 assists for 29 points, with 18 penalty minutes, with the Ducks last season.
"We're excited to sign Cam to a long-term contract," said Ducks GM Bob Murray. "He's a character kid with a great chance to become an elite NHL defenseman."
Fowler was originally drafted by Anaheim in the first round (12th overall) of the 2010 NHL Entry Draft. He made his NHL debut in 2010-11, and tallied 10 goals and 30 assists for 40 points in 76 games that season.
