Souray signs 3-year contract

The Anaheim Ducks have signed unrestricted free agent defenseman Sheldon Souray to a three-year, $11 million contract.

Souray, 35, registered six goals and 15 assists for 21 points, along with 73 penalty minutes, in 64 games with the Dallas Stars this past season.

The three-time All-Star has played in 714 career NHL regular-season games with New Jersey, Montreal, Edmonton and Dallas, and has accumulated 102 goals and 181 assists for 283 points, along with 1,093 penalty minutes.

Souray was originally drafted by the Devils in the third-round (71st overall) of the 1994 NHL Entry Draft.
