Ducks sign defenseman Allen

The Anaheim Ducks have signed unrestricted free agent defenseman Bryan Allen to a three-year, $10.5 million contract.

Allen, 31, registered one goal and 13 assists for 14 points, along with 76 penalty minutes, in all 82 regular-season games with the Carolina Hurricanes this past season.

In 601 career regular-season NHL games with Vancouver, Florida and Carolina, Allen has accumulated 29 goals and 89 assists for 118 points, along with 724 penalty minutes.

Allen was originally drafted fourth-overall by the Canucks in the 1998 NHL Entry Draft.
