"I'm well aware," Ryan told the Orange County Register. "It's frustrating because I think my play over the past 10 games has been good enough to where they should cease a little bit and there should be some protection there."
The Ducks are currently 13 points out of a playoff spot due to a slow start that left Ryan with only five goals in the first 21 games of the season.
The top-line winger now ranks second on the Ducks' roster with 17 goals and is on pace to once again reach 30 by the end of the season.
Ducks head coach Bruce Boudreau is amongst many who believe Ryan has the potential to attain the 40-goal barrier.
"I look at him and I think he's capable of 40," Boudreau said. "And I would hope that he would think I'm not going to be satisfied with 30. I want him to get 40. I'm hoping he's pushing himself towards that goal."
The Ducks are currently playing their best hockey of the season and are aiming to make a dramatic push to get into the playoff run.
Ryan certainly hopes to be around for it, although rumors of him potentially being moved likely won't be kept quiet.
In 45 games with the Ducks this season, Ryan has collected 17 goals and 11 assists for 28 goals.
