Ducks sign free agent Sutton

The Anaheim Ducks haves signed unrestricted free agent defenseman Andy Sutton to a two-year contract. Financial terms of the deal were disclosed.

Sutton, 35, appeared in 72 games with the New York Islanders and Ottawa Senators last season, collecting five goals and eight assists for 13 points, and 107 penalty minutes.

Originally signed by San Jose as an undrafted free agent on Mar. 20, 1998, Sutton has played 12 NHL seasons with San Jose (1998-00), Minnesota (2000-02), Atlanta (2001-07), New York Islanders (2007-10) and Ottawa (2009-10). In 585 career NHL games, Sutton has accumulated 35 goals and 101 assists for 136 points, with 1,018 penalty minutes.
