The Anaheim Ducks have avoided arbitration with defenseman James Wisniewski, signing him to a one-year, $3.25 million contract.

In 69 games with the Ducks last season, Wisniewski registered three goals, 27 assists and 59 penalty minutes.

The native of Canton, MI, has played in 254 career NHL regular-season games with the Ducks and Chicago Blackhawks, accumulating 17 goals and 80 assists for 97 points, along with 264 penalty minutes.

Wisniewski, 26, was originally drafted by the Blackhawks in the fifth-round, 156th overall, of the 2002 NHL Entry Draft. He was traded to the Ducks with forward Petri Kontiola during the 2008-09 season in exchange for center Samuel Pahlsson, forward Logan Stephenson and a 2009 conditional draft pick.
