Ducks ship Boynton to Blackhawks

The Anaheim Ducks have traded defenseman Nick Boynton to the Chicago Blackhawks in exchange for future considerations.

Boynton, 31, was playing for the Manitoba Moose of the American Hockey League, appearing in nine games with the Moose and registering four assists and four penalty minutes. Signed as a free agent on July 9, 2009, Boynton began the season with Anaheim, collecting one goal, six assists and 59 penalty minutes.

A native of Nobleton, Ontario, Boynton has played 10 NHL seasons with Boston, Phoenix, Florida and Anaheim. In 547 career NHL games, Boynton has recorded 33 goals, 102 assists and 801 penalty minutes.
