Burke warns of more trades

When the Anaheim Ducks traded away Sean O'Donnell earlier this week, it caught most of his now-former teammates off guard.

"I think it just makes everyone aware that no one's job is safe," Ducks right wing George Parros told the Orange County Register.

And he's right.

According to the Register, Ducks GM Brian Burke made it clear after moving O'Donnell that more trades could be made as the team tried to create enough cap space for necessary call-ups and potential mid-season deals.

"It's never over, right?" center Todd Marchant told the paper. "Brian is always a pretty active general manager. To say 'They're done,' or 'This is it,' we don't know. You just have to go about your business, your daily routine, like you're getting ready for a hockey season."

Marchant's name and salary [cap hit of $2.517 million] has been floating around the trade circles for several weeks. While the team is already under the salary cap, moving this veteran center would give the Ducks the necessary cap space they're looking for.
